Toward Optimized Practice (TOP) is a health quality improvement initiative that fits within the broader health system focusing on quality and complementing other initiatives such as the Primary Care Initiative and the Physician Office System Program.
TOP offers Alberta physicians a unique way of incorporating innovative processes and practices into their practices with the goal of engaging physicians and their teams in using measurement and evidence for continuous quality improvement.
This is achieved by providing physicians and their teams with:
- Clinical practice guidelines, decision support tools and resources
- Quality improvement tools and resources
- Support from clinical process advisors
