As an advocate for patients and in providing leadership and support for their role in the provision of quality health care, the Alberta Medical Association tackles many health issues assisting patients, physician colleagues and other health care providers.
Issues include providing: timely, accurate and individualized medication information; fostering a team approach to providing practical advice on best approaches to prescribing for seniors; assisting patients in getting more involved in their care and to get the most from visits with their physicians; and recommendations for more accessible, equitable long-term care across Alberta.
