If yes, the Alberta Medical Association is currently recruiting for the position Coordinator, Integrated Programs. We have three temporary (approximately six months) positions that we are looking to fill. One position will be located out of our Calgary office and two will be located out of our Edmonton Office.

Position Overview

Professional Affairs – Integrated Programs supports physicians’ clinical and professional needs through programs aimed at quality improvement in patient care and clinical practice, including strategic clinical networks, clinical pathways, primary care networks and other initiatives.
Programs within the Integrated Programs portfolio are the Towards Optimized Practice (TOP), the Primary Care Network Program Management Office (PCN PMO), and AMA’s Practice Management Program (PMP).

As the Coordinator, Integrated Programs you will be responsible for providing senior administrative support to the Integrated Programs area. You will coordinate and organize the activities and tasks arising from assigned initiatives, projects and/or committees.

Key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Builds, coordinates, inputs and manages project schedules: using Microsoft Project or similar project management software; tracking commitments and milestones of work affiliated with assigned project.
  • Coordinates and organizes the myriad of activities and information arising from many stakeholders for assigned initiatives, projects and/or committees.
  • Organizes and manages the scheduling, travel, meetings, speaking engagements and other appointments for Program Director, PMP or Senior Consultant, Primary Care.
  • Organizes and manages the work of and the planning and preparation for assigned initiatives and/or committee meetings, including internal and project committees; preparing and coordinating the required documentation; recording the proceedings and outcomes and managing the work and communications generated.
  • Coordinates the compilation of information for internal and external distribution, preparing draft reports and other documents that require an understanding of the activities and plans of assigned initiatives, projects and/or committees.
  • Researches and prepares documentation for reports, presentations, proposals and other written materials including writing and editing letters and memos.

As an ideal candidate you possess the following qualifications:

Education and experience

  • Minimum requirement is a two year post-secondary diploma in business or related field with at least five years of progressively senior administrative experience with a minimum of three years in a health care or management association organization.
  • Experience in supporting high-level committees, boards or other formal entities.
  • Experience in project management support, including project scheduling, coordinating of activities and reporting on all aspects of the project.

  • Excellent organizational, communication and administrative abilities.
  • Proficient in office software programs; including spreadsheets, project management, databases, word processing and graphic presentation.
  • Above average meeting organizational and administrative skills.
  • Good judgment and discretion in anticipating, managing and planning activities.
  • Able to communicate in compelling, clear and understandable manner.
  • Works under stress and pressure, handles multiple priorities, adaptable to change and can prioritize and manage critical deadlines.
  • Able to manage in an environment of uncertainty, working efficiently and effectively to achieve work expectations and outcomes.
  • Ability to research and compile information in a concise and professional document.
  • Demonstrates a desire to continuously improve professional skills and organizational processes.
