Position Overview

As a part of our Information Systems Team, the Computer Systems Support provides hardware and software support to the AMA, its partners and its members. In this role you will demonstrate superior communication and customer service skills in order to successfully support end-users.

Coordinate ISG’s Service Desk: Receive, categorize, prioritize, assign, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software and networking.

Asset management: Manage and track assets, licensing and assignments of equipment using a CMDB.

Assist in planning and implementation of projects: Plan and/or assist with hardware roll-outs, software upgrades and scheduled maintenance plans.

Provide exemplary customer service. Support end-users with both software products (i.e. VMware View, Windows, Adobe and Microsoft Office) and hardware devices (i.e. personal computers, laptops, printers, iPhones, iPads, RSA tokens and video-conferencing equipment).

Although this position is based in Calgary, occasional travel to the AMA’s head office in Edmonton is required.

Qualifications

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Two-year diploma in computer technology.
  • At least one year of experience working in a service desk environment while providing hands-on technical support and telephone/desk-side support.
  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Communication and customer service skills must be exemplary.
  • Should be comfortable working independently but still be a strong team player by contributing to a positive work environment, including assisting team members and displaying integrity and respect for others.
  • Must demonstrate initiative, adaptability and a systematic approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with ITIL is desirable.
  • Business desktop deployment system knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the software and hardware listed above.
