Primary Care Networks are not-for-profit organizations supported by an agreement between the Alberta Medical Association, Alberta Health and Alberta Health Services. PCNs are collaborations between local physician groups and AHS Zones to enhance comprehensive primary care services in a geographic area.
The Wolf Creek Country Primary Care Network (WCPCN) was established in 2008 and currently employs 65 staff to assist 65 physicians in 12 clinics to deliver primary care in Ponoka, Lacombe, Rimbey, Bentley, Sylvan Lake and Innisfail.
Position summary
The position of Executive Director of the WCPCN is an executive position reporting to an elected physician Board of Directors. The Executive Director is accountable for all PCN operations, including business and financial planning as well as the management of financial and human resources. The Executive Director directs the interaction of WCPCN staff with the participating PCN primary care physicians based in the community. It is preferred that the applicant possess a master’s degree in an area of business administration, health administration or human resources. Experience in areas of operations management, project management, and multidisciplinary team management would be an asset.
The candidate should have proven leadership and business acumen, together with experience in consensus building and conflict resolution. A demonstrated background of building high-performing multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple stakeholder relationships will be regarded highly. This position offers executive level compensation based on experience.
This position is currently being offered on a 6-month term with possibility of renewal.
