Program Overview

The AMA Accelerating Change Transformation Team supports physicians and other clinical team members advance care delivery within their practice environments. We do this by developing the right products, tools and resources; build capacity in Primary Care Network (PCN) change agents through training and networks of practice; and support these change agents in successful implementation.

The ACTT provides support to the PCN Zonal Committees and Primary Care Networks and other physician-led groups to advance:

  • Accountable and effective governance 
  • Patient’s Medical Home 
  • Health needs of the community and population 
  • Strong partnerships and transitions of care 
  • PCN Zonal Priorities 
  • Health Neighbourhood

We work closely with key stakeholders including Primary Care Networks, Alberta Health Services, Alberta College of Family Physicians and Alberta health to support health initiatives.

Position Overview

As an Advisor with ACTT, you will work on multiple projects teams to develop and or implement initiatives to advance care delivery in Alberta based on your specialized knowledge in communications. You will assist on project teams by providing advice and support with content creation, communications planning, business and professional writing, proofreading and editing.

This position gives you the opportunity to: 

  • Utilize your exceptional written and oral communication skills to tailor communication plans, materials, documents and reports into terms that can be understood by various audiences. 
  • Analyze data and interpret findings. This includes data visualization and the creation of infographics. 
  • Support strategic communication planning and development of work plans by providing specialized advice to ACTT project teams and external stakeholders. 
  • Liaise with AMA Public Affairs to coordinate communication initiatives, brand management, visual identity guidelines, etc. 
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to provide seamless support for project teams to successful implement AMA ACTT initiatives. 
  • Recognize project interdependencies and ensure there is a common communications approach to content development across ACTT products and training. 
  • Participate in the development of tools and resources. 
  • Lead and deliver communication projects within ACTT.

As an ideal candidate you possess the following qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in communications, public relations or related field. 
  • At least five years of communication experience in a corporate or not-for-profit environment. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 
  • Experience in health care is an asset.

Skills:

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills; able to adapt messages based on the key audience. 
  • Strong technical and creative writing skills 
  • Focus on accuracy, attention to detail, quality service 
  • Model respect and transparency by being open, acting with integrity, sharing resources/knowledge across project delivery teams. 
  • Able to work in collaboration with multiple stakeholders. 
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to work within a changing environment. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment is essential.
