ATLS rural offering of Recertification and Instructor Courses
October 10 and October 11-12
The Athabasca Healthcare Centre is providing rural offerings of Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses in Recertification (October 10) as well as becoming an ATLS instructor (October 11-12).

- Oct 10: 7:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- Oct 11: 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- Oct 12: 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
- Location: Athabasca Healthcare Centre, 3100 - 48 Avenue, Athabasca

- Recertification course - $1,150
- Instructor course - $1,400
Recertification (October 10)
ATLS is an internationally recognized continuing education course designed to teach a standardized and concise approach to the care of trauma patients within the "golden hour" or "period" where the greatest likelihood of death occurs.
Target Audience: Practicing Physicians, Residents, or Nurse Practitioners currently certified in ATLS, who need a refresher to renew/maintain certification (every four years). This full-day course includes content overview, scenarios and testing. Also included are drinks and snacks.

Instructor course (October 11/12)
Take your ATLS skills to the next level! Become an ATLS Instructor and participate in the dissemination of the program. This course will give you the tools you need to succeed in becoming an effective teacher and facilitator for the ATLS Course.
Target Audience: Successful ATLS students who were identified as having "Instructor Potential" and are interested in dedicating their time and efforts into teaching ATLS courses. This 1.5-day course includes teaching tricks and tips by experts in the field as well as drinks and snacks.
