Forum Overview

Choosing Wisely Alberta is part of a ground-breaking international and national campaign which encourages physicians and patients to engage in conversations about the appropriateness of tests, investigations and treatments. The goal is to avoid unnecessary and low-value care in order to decrease the risk of harm to patients.

Choosing Wisely Alberta is a national leader in implementing recommendations through collaborations with primary care and specialty groups.

This program was co-developed by Choosing Wisely Alberta and the Office of CME&PD, University of Calgary, and was planned to achieve scientific integrity, objectivity and balance.

This program has not received any financial or in-kind support.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this program, participants will be equipped to:

  • List Choosing Wisely (CW) related activities and projects taking place in Alberta
  • Discuss the future direction of Choosing Wisely in Alberta
  • Build partnerships and collaborations among patients, clinicians and key stakeholders currently conducting Choosing Wisely related activities
