Ultrasound Guidance for Peripheral Vascular Access and Fascia Iliaca Block

This two-part course uses a blend of preparatory work, followed by intensive expert-lead didactic teaching and individually supervised skills practice with ultrasound machines, human models and gel and tissue phantoms. Physicians may register for one or both sessions. Nurses may register for the morning session, and attend the afternoon session for interest, at no additional cost.

MORNING – Ultrasound Guided Peripheral Vascular Access

This session will equip physicians and nurses to locate peripheral vessels for IV starts using ultrasound.

AFTERNOON – Fascia Iliaca Compartment Block

This session will equip physicians to use ultrasound guided needling for infiltration of the fascia iliaca compartment, for femoral neck and shaft analgesia.
