Kitchen/Office Support Clerk (part-time)

The Alberta Medical Association is currently recruiting for a part-time Kitchen/Office Support Clerk to join our Corporate Services Group. The schedule for this role is Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (four hours per day), with the exception of covering reception absences, such as vacation, illness, etc., which may require up to seven hour per day coverage.

Position overview

The Corporate Services Group is responsible for the operations of reception, record administration and document management, print shop/mailroom and kitchen areas of the AMA.

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks and responsibilities involved around the operations of the Corporate Services Group including kitchen and catering support, photocopying, mail distribution, administrative support and reception.

Key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintaining the kitchen, meeting rooms and common area spaces, including providing assistance with setting up meeting rooms, assisting with catering, including ordering, setting up and cleaning up, checking/ordering supplies, etc.
  • Assisting with mail distribution, including, but not limited to sorting mail, prepare inter-office mail and courier packages, etc.
  • Assisting the receptionist with deliveries, stationery orders, photocopier maintenance, etc.
  • Reception relief coverage during the absence of the receptionist. This includes full day coverage when required; which could be last minute.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma with a working knowledge of Microsoft office.
  • One year of office experience is required, including an eye for accuracy and detail, as well as strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work additional hours with minimal notice.
  • Works independently with nominal direction.
  • Works well with a diverse groups of people in a respectful manner.
  • Must be able to adapt to change and accommodate short timelines.
  • Must be able to handle the physical aspects of this position such as bending and lifting.
