Primary Care Networks are not-for-profit organizations supported by an agreement between the Alberta Medical Association, Alberta Health and Alberta Health Services. PCNs are collaborations between local physician groups and AHS Zones to enhance comprehensive primary care services in a geographic area.

The PCN is a high profile entity, which is a collaboration between local physician groups and AHS Zones to provide primary care services through a multidisciplinary team based approach. The Drayton Valley PCN (DVPCN) became operational in 2014. The PCN currently employs 14 staff to assist 18 physicians in three clinics to deliver targeted primary health care services for Drayton Valley and its surrounding communities.

The Position

The position of Executive Director is an executive position reporting to a Physician Board of Directors. The Executive Director is accountable for all PCN operations, including business and financial planning as well as the management of financial and human resources. The Executive Director directs the interaction of PCN staff with the participating PCN primary care physicians based in the community. This position requires an individual who is a creative, dynamic and an innovative leader. The ideal candidate will have exemplary leadership skills, demonstrated business acumen, and proven facilitation, consensus building and conflict resolution skills. The successful candidate will have outstanding interpersonal, organization, collaborative and management skills and a demonstrated background of building high-performing multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple stakeholder relationships.

It is preferred that applicants possess a degree (master's preferred) in business administration, health administration or human resources in addition to five to ten years progressive work experience at a management level. Equivalencies will be considered. Experience in areas of operations management, project management and multidisciplinary team management would be an asset.

This position offers executive level compensation based on experience.
