Primary Care Networks

Primary Care Networks are not-for-profit organizations supported by an agreement between the Alberta Medical Association, Alberta Health and Alberta Health Services. PCNs are collaborations between local physician groups and AHS Zones to enhance comprehensive primary care services in a geographic area.

The Camrose Primary Care Network (CPCN) and Wetaskiwin Primary Care Network (WPCN) were established in 2005 and 2010 respectively. The two PCNs currently employ 53 staff to assist 78 physicians in 10 clinics to deliver primary care in the cities of Camrose and Wetaskiwin, the counties of Camrose and Flagstaff, as well as Maskwacis, Millet, Ma Me O Beach and surrounding areas.

The Position

The position of Executive Director of the CPCN and WPCN is an executive position reporting to both the Camrose and Wetaskiwin elected physician Boards of Directors. The Executive Director is accountable for all PCN operations, including business and financial planning as well as the management of financial and human resources. The Executive Director directs the interaction of CPCN and WPCN staff with the participating PCN primary care physicians based in each community. It is preferred that the applicant possess a Baccalaureate in an area of business administration, health administration or human resources. Experience in areas of operations management, project management and multidisciplinary team management would be an asset.

The candidate should have proven leadership and business acumen, together with experience in consensus building and conflict resolution. A demonstrated background of building high-performing multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple stakeholder relationships will be regarded highly.

This position offers executive level compensation based on experience.
