November 21, 2014 - PCC Update

November 21, 2014

This publication from the Physician Compensation Committee is designed to provide regular updates on the approvals, decisions and accomplishments that take place at that table.

Update

Since the last PCC Update, the Committee continues to make progress in the provincial individual fee review.

Recent Activities

In accordance with the Individual Fee Review Process, the PCC has now met representatives from each of the 13 Sections that have either shared or full ownership of the 22 codes selected for individual review.

In addition, the PCC has received a significant amount of feedback from other sections in response to a questionnaire distributed to all sections on September 8, 2014.

The PCC has appreciated the opportunity to work closely with sections on these important matters and wishes to thank all those who participated for their time and effort to provide thorough and valuable information.

With the fact-finding portion of the process completed, the PCC is now prepared to complete its analysis of individual fee codes and then communicate its preliminary decision to the 13 sections.

To assist with this, the PCC has adopted a set of guiding principles and factors to apply when assessing the value of health service codes.
