Operational Clinical Networks

OCNs

Please be advised: Operational Clinical Networks no longer exist at Alberta Health Services.

The three former OCNs of Critical Care, Emergency and Surgery were rebranded in November 2013 as Strategic Clinical Networks (SCNs), to better reflect the work that they do.

The SCN website is now available at https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/scns/scn.aspx.

Please see below for archived information regarding OCNs.

Similar in many ways to Strategic Clinical Networks, OCNs work with and alongside SCNs. OCNs’ focus is on front-line activities – they are more operational than strategic.

How does the Alberta Medical Association support OCNs?

Much of the AMA’s work with OCNs will fall under the System Wide Efficiencies and Savings Consultation Agreement of the AMA Agreement.

Learn more about OCNs

OCN teams include representatives and clinicians from the health care professions, government, research and academic partners, community and not-for profit groups and patients and their families.

SCNs and OCNs work together to use each group’s experience and expertise to improve health outcomes and patient experience.
