AMA President-Elect 2021-22: Call for Nominations

The Call for Nominations period for the 2021-22 president-elect is open. Nominations are due by 9 a.m., Wednesday, April 21.

The AMA Bylaws allow for an election if other president-elect candidates step forward. If other nominations are received, an election will be held.

The 2021-22 president-elect term begins at the adjournment of the Fall Annual General Meeting.

Dr. Fredrykka Rinaldi is the nominee of the Alberta Medical Association’s Nominating Committee for the position of 2021-22 AMA president-elect, selected at the committee’s February 28 meeting.

Dr. Rinaldi is a family physician in Medicine Hat, Alberta. She has a full-time office and hospital practice. She graduated from Dalhousie University and completed her residency at the Montreal General Hospital.

She has an extensive background with the Alberta Medical Association. Since 2015, she has served as Deputy Speaker of the Representative Forum. She is a past member of the AMA Board of Directors.

Dr. Rinaldi is currently the President of the South Zone Medical Staff Association, Secretary-Treasurer of the Section of Family Medicine, member of AHS and AMA Bylaws committees and member of multiple other committees. Dr. Rinaldi is the South Zone Physician Lead for Primary Care Networks and Chair of the Palliser Primary Care Network. Her strong interests are governance best practices, bylaws and due process for physicians.

Her personal interests include motorcycling, gardening, shopping and her two dogs.
