IFHP Policy on Coordination of Benefits

November 18, 2016

Important notice from Medavie Blue Cross

In accordance with the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) Policy, the IFHP is a payer of last resort, meaning that it provides benefits to those who lack public health insurance and comprehensive health insurance.

The IFHP does not cover the cost of health care services or products that a person may claim (even in part) under a public or private health insurance plan/program. The IFHP does not coordinate benefits with other insurance plans/programs, therefore co-payments are not possible.
