Mock CaRMS interviews

November 25, 2016

Every year the Canadian Medical Association and Alberta Medical Association host a Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS) Interview Training Day to help prepare students for their real interviews. This year's event will take place in Calgary and Edmonton on Saturday, January 7, 2017. The invitation for student participation will go out in December. Watch for communication from your AMA Committee on Student Affairs representative.

A small number of medical residents who have experienced the CaRMS interview process are invited to ask medical students typical interview questions, provide feedback on students' answers and lead discussions in an informal group setting. The objective is to increase students' confidence and interview skills. Students receive feedback from residents and their peers, and will pick-up tips from all answers and feedback given.

Four time block sessions are scheduled between 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Each time block has three groups of students (eight max) and two residents. The groups are family medicine, surgical specialties and other specialties. Each group will include two residents.
