Health Disciplines Board

Alberta Health is recruiting for a physician member to serve on its Health Disciplines Board. Competition closes December 18.

The board also makes recommendations on practice issues and approves education programs, registration examinations, standards of practice, and continuing competency requirements. If you have an interest in judicial process and an understanding of the scope of practice issues facing these two health disciplines, then apply for this exciting opportunity today!

Out-of-Country Health Services Appeal Panel

Four physicians are required to fill the roles on this panel. Recruitment is open until December 21.

The panel hears appeals of Albertans requiring a review of denied claims for insured medical, oral surgical and hospital services to be provided outside of Canada. It usually meets once every six weeks via teleconference with occasional face-to-face meetings held on-site at the Alberta Health Edmonton office.

The Alberta Medical Association stands as an advocate for its physician members, providing leadership & support for their role in the provision of quality health care.
