Who Can Join?
Physicians who dedicate more than 50% of their clinical time to mental health may join as voting members.
Physicians who are active voting members of another AMA section and have an interest in the treatment of mental illness may join as non-voting associate members.
Why Join?
Your unique needs are represented at the AMA Representative Forum, helping shape policy, funding and system direction.
Enjoy discounts on educational events and opportunities to attend the section's AGM as an observer.
Connect with your colleagues. Share insights, raise concerns and collaborate on solutions.
Bring forward issues related to focused practice within the Section of Family Medicine and help guide AMA advocacy efforts.
Already a Member of Another Section?
Did you know you can join multiple sections?
If you are already an active (voting) member of another section, you can still participate in the Section of Generalists in Mental Health by joining as an associate member.
Associate membership is open to any AMA member in good standing who has an interest in the section and/or the treatment of mental illness.
While associate members do not have voting rights, they enjoy all other benefits of section membership, including access to events, communications and opportunities to connect with colleagues.
