Online attendee option expands Forum 2025 audience

This year’s Primary Care Strategic Forum was the first time an online option was added for attendees. People could choose to participate in-person, virtually or a mix of the two. All plenary and breakout sessions held in the main ballroom were livestreamed, with 15% of the total audience participating online at some point through the Forum.

Virtually and in-person, 487 primary care leaders and teams, provincial decisionmakers and other health system workforce members all came together to explore and discuss "The Path Ahead” for Alberta primary health care. The three-day event, which ran in Edmonton May 1-3, 2025, was the largest gathering yet for the AMA-ACTT hosted event. More than half the attendees were Primary Care Networks’ staff and physicians.

It was a great opportunity to connect with partners, put faces to names and meet new people.

    • Maps
    • Exhibitor booths
    • Tools for session engagement
    • Session presentations and documents
  • Real-time updates and notifications

One attendee shared the “app was an excellent resource.” 89% of survey respondents rated the app favourably along with 93% who appreciated the event website.

Overall, the breakout sessions were rated 4.25 out of 5 stars and 91% of survey respondents saying they would recommend Forum to a friend or colleague.

One respondent said “this was one of the most creative and engaging Forums I have attended. I have attended many over the years!”

The lessons and learnings from the 2025 installment will inform future events.
