Dr. Jean Triscott completed BSc in Microbiology with Distinction at Montana State University, and received a Medical Research Council Fellowship in Immunology at the University of Alberta. She then graduated with Distinction in Education , BED/AD at the University of Alberta.
Dr. Triscott graduated from Faculty of Medicine and completed her Speciality in Family Medicine (CCFP) and post-graduate training in Geriatric Medicine. She obtained her Certificate with Added Competence in Care of the Elderly from the College of Family Physician Canada. She has worked in the Specialized Geriatric Service and her clinical practice is presently at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital. Her on-going research interest in Cognition and Dementia, Driving, Participatory Research in Culture/End of Life-Issues and Dementia, Geriatric Giants, and Chronic Diseases. She has numerous scientific publication and presentations . Dr. Jean Triscott and colleagues have published the Health Care of the Elderly Guideline 2021.
Dr. Triscott is a Full Professor and is currently the Director of the Division of Care of the Elderly and past Director for the Care of the Elderly Program, Department of Family Medicine, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Alberta. She is a member of the Alberta Centre on Aging and the Co-Director of the Centre for the Study of Cross-Cultural Health and Healing.
