Olga Szafran, MHSA, is the Associate Director of Research in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alberta. For over 35 years, she has been involved in family practice research and has published in the areas of practice patterns of family physicians and family medicine graduates, medical education, prevention, cross-cultural health and primary health services research. She is co-author on two manuals on teaching cultural competency skills to health professionals and co-editor of the book At the Interface of Culture and Medicine.
