Dear Members,
Budget – What the numbers really show
The Alberta government released the 2026 Provincial budget yesterday afternoon. I attended at the Legislature, giving media interviews. Following our initial analysis, we are releasing a statement today to set the record straight. Government has invested to correct a long period of under-investment, which is welcome; however, our analysis shows the real net increase is far more modest than government has presented.
Pulse survey for allocation of year four agreement increase
If you didn’t already spot the email you should have received from me yesterday, please check your inbox as soon as possible. It contains a three-question Pulse Survey to provide input to the Board of Directors. The survey closes March 4.
Posters for physician offices
In June 2025, we released the AMA’s inaugural Report Card on the State of Health Care. This annual report will be released again in June 2026. As part of the research involved, we are surveying the public to understand how the health care system treated them in 2025. This public survey is open to May 8.
If you have an office-based practice and some wall space available, please use one of our posters – option 1 or option 2 – to invite anyone passing through to participate. The survey is open to everyone.
Thank you for your support,
