Why quality matters

“Delivering quality care in Alberta matters deeply to me because I see every day how much it shapes not just health outcomes, but people’s sense of dignity, trust, and safety within the system. In my work across urban, rural, and Indigenous communities, I’ve learned that quality isn’t just about doing things right clinically — it’s about meeting people where they are, addressing barriers, and creating space where they feel heard and respected.

I’m especially passionate about prevention and equity, including improving access to cancer screening and supporting patients who often fall through the cracks. For me, it’s about contributing to a system that is thoughtful, accountable, and truly responsive to the diverse communities we serve in Alberta.”

Beyond the bedside

"Last year (2025), in the same week, I floated in the Silfra Fissure — between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates — and crossed the Bosphorus Strait, which separates Europe and Asia."
