“I'm sure that delivering optimal patient care is the main driver for the majority of physicians, and knowing that you have participated in delivering that care is one of the most rewarding aspects of life as a physician. This can be frustrated by external factors (patient level, system level, geography etc.).
We have finite healthcare dollars — and part of our role as professionals is to use resources wisely and ensure that our whole population can access the care that they need and deserve in a timely manner. We and our loved ones will all be patients at some point in our lives, and I would like to feel secure knowing that the health system available to us can provide us all with the best care possible when we need it.”
