Dr. Cara Bablitz is a Métis family physician and Assistant Clinical Professor within the University of Alberta’s Department of Family Medicine. She provides clinical services within the AHS’ Indigenous Wellness program, is the Medical Director at Edmonton’s Indigenous Wellness Clinic and is an emerging PHC researcher with a focus on palliative medicine. Dr. Bablitz is a member of the Palliative Care Outreach and Advocacy Team in Edmonton, where she helps provide compassionate, culturally sensitive end-of-life care to socially vulnerable patients across the city.
Dr. Bablitz is a leading voice in Indigenous health and was instrumental in creating the Alberta Medical Association (AMA) Policy Paper on Indigenous Health, and was the Chair of the AMA Indigenous Health Committee from 2017-2023.
