Dr. Cassandra Felske-Durksen is an Otipemisiwak family physician with a clinical interest in reproductive and sexual health within oppressed populations and genocide survivors. She is based in Edmonton and provides care through the Indigenous Wellness Clinic located at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, and has admitting and consulting privileges at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and Lois Hole Hospital for Women.
Dr. Felske-Durksen received her medical degree from the University of British Columbia and is a respected leader in Indigenous health, both provincially and nationally. She has served as chair of the Indigenous Health Committee since 2024 and played a pivotal role in supporting the development of the AMA’s Land Acknowledgement Statement. She was also the driving force behind the creation of the Section of Indigenous Health and presented the case for voting at the Spring 2025 Representative Forum.
