Section of Infectious Diseases

Join Us! If you’re not already a member of the Section of Infectious Diseases, consider joining. We need your perspective, your ideas and your insight.  Let your voice be heard. When you become a section member, you pay applicable section dues in addition to AMA membership dues. The section receives 100% of the dues collected to support the work of your section. Two funding programs will be available to accept applications from July 1 - August 31.

The  Publication Fees Assistance Program and the CME Financial Support Benefit are both open to members in good standing.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Active, current AMA member
  2. Member of the AMA Section of Infectious Diseases
  3. Expenses will have been incurred between June 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026

Benefits

Voting members of a section
Receive an invitation to attend the AGM, vote on business, serve as an executive member, have access to secure information (AGM minutes, section bylaws) and receive timely and informative section-related communications.
Non-voting members of a section
Receive the benefits above, except for voting and serving on the executive.

Grants and dues

The AMA provides financial support to sections with grant dollars. For each AMA member who designated the section as their representative at the AMA RF, the section receives:

$30.00 for each member,
$15.00 for each 1st year in practice member and,
$4,000 to support general operating costs for the section.
