Section of Rural Medicine Enhancement Program

The Section of Rural Medicine’s Enhancement Program was established to help rural-origin students who are applying to medical school. It is intended to assist students to prepare for the medical school interview and improve their chances of being admitted. The program is available for students applying to any medical school regardless of whether it’s the first application or the tenth. The primary requirement is that students must have a reasonable connection to a rural community.

2025 Program

NOTICE: The 2025 Enhancement Program is now full. Any applications that are received will be added to the waitlist.

The 2025 Enhancement Program will host two sessions. One on Saturday, February 22 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, virtually, and another on Saturday, March 1 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, virtually.

Participants will receive an introduction to Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs) and information on strategies to manage interview anxiety and participate in a mock MMI.

Please complete the Enhancement Program application form and email it to [email protected] to apply. There is no cost to participate in the program.

Please note: the number of spaces for the Enhancement Program is limited, so priority will be given to individuals who have received an invitation for an interview at a medical school, on a first come, first serve basis. Proof of an interview invitation may be requested.
