Dr. Bahler brings over a decade of dedicated service to the AMA, having previously served as the Medical Director for ACTT and as a valued member of the Informatics Committee. In his role as Medical Director, Primary Care, Dr. Bahler is responsible for advancing the AMA’s strategic priorities within Alberta’s primary and preventative care landscape. He will serve as the primary point of contact for medical matters between the AMA and Primary Care Alberta.
Where did you attend university?
Medical school at the University of Alberta.
Where did you do your residency?
Residency in the Rural Alberta North family medicine program.
Why is working as the AMA Medical director for Primary care important to you?
So much of our experience - for both physicians and patients - is dependent on the systems and conditions we work in. Any work we can do to improve those conditions and the support for physician practices can have a significant impact on physician experience and patient care outcomes.
What is one thing colleagues might be surprised to learn about you?
I was born and raised an Alberta farmer and still live on my family farm.
