Dr. Sarah L. Bates

Listen to the Dr. Sarah L. Bates podcast

When Dr. Sarah Bates was a medical student at the University of Calgary, she helped to found the AMA's Committee on Student Affairs to advocate for student interests.

Since starting her practice, she's continued to be closely connected with her professional association. Currently she's an AMA board member as well as a member of the Health Issues Council and the Negotiations Committee. She's also a member of the Southside Edmonton PCN and sits on that board.

In a new series of podcasts featuring active AMA members, she talks about the rewards of engaging with her professional association: "It's wonderful to come to the AMA and really reconnect with the profession."
