2016 Special Information Session on MAID

Following the Spring 2016 RF the AMA hosted a special information session regarding implementation of MAID in Alberta. You can view the session below.

This two hour session followed adjournment of the RF meeting, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12. AMA President Dr. Carl Nohr moderated a panel session including:

  • From the Canadian Medical Association: Implementation issues with Dr.Cecile Bensimon, Director of Ethics
  • From Alberta Health Services: Operationalizing MAID in Alberta with Dr. Francois Belanger, Acting Vice President Quality and Chief Medical Officer and Dr. James Silvius, Medical Director, Community, Seniors,Addiction and Mental Health
  • From the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta: Regulatory issues with Dr. Trevor Theman, Registrar
  • From Alberta Health: Legislative aspects of MAID with Ms Denise Perret, Corporate Counsel
