Primary Care 2030 White Paper
August 15, 2022
As discussions continue about how to restore and support primary care, we suggest reading Primary Care 2030 White Paper. This paper, developed by the Primary Care Alliance, seeks to work with partners and stakeholders to challenge and re-shape the status quo. Health care systems excel by managing from the frontline of primary care (doctors, nurses, teams).
To begin building upwards, Alberta needs:
- Additional support for primary care with comprehensive, coordinated teams of health professionals.
- An acute care system that responds to patent needs with timely access to care.
- To keep more patients healthy in the community and out of hospital by supporting primary care practices focused on managing complex, chronic care.
