Election issue 7: Primary Care

May 11, 2023

Dr. Fredrykka Rinaldi, AMA PresidentDear Members,

Today we release the final issue of our election information program Handle With Care. The primary care profile addresses: the state of family medicine; the need to sustainably support clinics and family physicians that are in crisis; and the value of providing every Albertan with a medical home.

We are asking the political parties to respond to our questions.

Here is the infographic that summarizes the election program issues and provides questions that you might find useful when candidates come to your door. You can click the headings to access the corresponding issue profiles. For those with office practices, consider posting the infographic or distributing it to encourage your patients to have their own conversations.

The Board is preparing to work with the new government on urgent issues that matter to members and our patients.

You are always welcome to share your thoughts with me. You can email me via president@albertadoctors.org. You can also comment on this letter on the AMA website.

Regards,
