Each year the Alberta Medical Association (AMA) invites members to share their expertise by volunteering to serve on various standing committees and governance groups for the coming year. The strength and effectiveness of the AMA depends, in part, on the depth of expertise on our committees. We are committed to diversity and inclusivity in our committee appointments.
AMA policy provides that committee members receive honoraria and reimbursement of expenses incurred for meetings attended. For more information, refer to the Guide for Honoraria and Expenses.
The Nominating Committee annually reviews membership on standing committees. Recommendations are submitted to the Board of Directors for approval in July. Appointments take effect October 1 of any given year. Additional committee needs may result in calls for expressions of interest at other point through the year.
